Competitions and Sports

2018/2019

Dance Festival

Congratulations to our fantastic dance team who came second in a Dance Festival that took place on the 12th June (2019) at Boughton Village Hall.  They did an amazing job and it was a very tight decision for first place.

A big thank you to Mrs Olson for putting together a super routine.

Gymnastics Competition

Our Westmeads team came second in the KS1 category at the recent inter-school gymnastics competition at Herne Bay High School on 1st May 2019. This was a fantastic achievement and the children should be very proud of themselves.  Thank you to Mrs Olson for all her efforts in training the children for this competition.

As a result of this the four children have been invited to compete as representatives of the School Games Partnership in the County Gymnastic finals in Maidstone in June, which will be a very exciting opportunity for them.

Infant Agility Competition

On the 13th March (2019) a group of Year 2 children had great fun representing Westmeads at the 'Infant Agility' competition hosted by the School Games Team at Herne Bay High School.

During the event the children had to show their abilities in a wide variety of skills and they represented Westmeads fantastically.

Speed Stacking Tournament

Selected pupils from Year 2 took part in a Speed Stacking Competition hosted by the School Games team at Herne Bay High School on the 6th February (2019).  Unfortunately, we didn't come in the top three but well done to our two teams, who gave a very good effort and represented our school very well.

Basketball Tournament

Some of our Year 2 children were selected to represent Westmeads at KS1 Basketball tournament hosted by the School Games Team at Herne Bay High School in October (2018).  Well done to the team, who did a fantastic job.

Wake up and Shake up

Well done to those Year 2 children who took part in the KS1 Wake up and Shake Up competition on Wednesday 5th December 2018 hosted by the School Games team at Boughton Under Blean and Dunkirk Village Hall.  The team did very well and took 2nd place.  Photos can be viewed below.
