Welcome back to Term 2 in Green class!
This term we are learning all about World War II. We have a brilliant role play area that the children have been busy making items for and we're even going to interview a real life WWII evacuee... So watch this space!
Children in Need
Green class had lots of fun supporting Children in Need's 'Superhero' day! We loved being superheroes so much that we've decided to incorporate them into our class rules... Have a look!
We have been busy writing all about being a child evacuee in WWII. We've had to think about how they felt, what they brought with them in their suitcase and also about how they liked their host families! Messages in a bottle, question writing, report writing... we love to write in lots of different ways in Green class!
Remember to use our English working wall for lots of adjectives ideas, connective clues- not forgetting those magnificent 'Magpie' words!
In Maths we have been revisiting addition and subtraction- though this time we have been using some empty number lines... Have a look at how confident we are at solving our calculations!
Science this term involves plenty of experiments and investigations related to our WWII theme. We are investigating everyday materials and this week tested the suitability of various materials for making strong walking shoes (an essential to pack in that evacuee suitcase!)
We came to the conclusion that rubber would be the most suitable material and even made a recommendation to a shoe company! Have a look at our experiments...
