The Year 1 children had a visit from a Jewish parent to talk about Shabbat, to help answer our Term 1 key question 'What does it mean to belong to a faith community?' They enjoyed listening to the information and were very interested in learning all about the celebration. They loved sampling the delicious Challah bread and grape juice too!
To help answer Year 2's key question for Term 1 ('How should we care for others and the world and why does it matter?'), special visitor Richard Norman came in to talk to us about Humanist views and opinions. He also answered many general questions that the children had about Humanism.
To celebrate Diwali, each class listened to the story of Rama and Sita and completed some activities in class. We were also lucky enough to have a visit from a dance instructor to teach us some Bollywood inspired moves! The children had great fun.
Seasalter Christian Centre
In the lead up to Christmas, our Reception children visited Seasalter Christian Centre. They explored the centre, looking at different symbols and artefacts, and also looked at some books about Christmas and Christianity. They also made Christingles and learnt about what the different parts represent.
