‘Happy To Learn’

Children have the opportunities to use different materials (including recycled materials), tools and techniques to create their own models and sculptures.

In EYFS the children explore construction, junk modelling, dough and manipulating materials to create their own models.  Year 1 build on this by exploring a range of ways to manipulate materials such as tearing, cutting, twisting, rolling and coiling to use purposefully in their artwork and learn different joining techniques.  In Year 2 the children develop their manipulation of materials and joining skills and learn how to form their own clay pots.
