Safeguarding Children

The Governing Body and all the staff of Westmeads Community Infant School take seriously our responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children, and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements are in place within our school to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.

On our school  team, we have several trained Designated Safeguarding staff members. They are:

Kirsty White - Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead

Amie Powell - Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Jamie Sonnex - Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Jo Elms - Familiy Liaison Officer and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Our role is to ensure that our pupils are safe, both in and outside of school. If you have any worries or concerns about a situation that your child, or any other, is facing, please do not hesitate to contact us.
