School Information
Westmeads is an infant school built in 1904, which sits at the heart of the community that it serves. It had an extension in 2004 which provided much-needed space for extra classrooms, a new library, Rainbow Room and offices.
The children join Westmeads in the academic year that they are 5 years old, and leave us to move to one of Whitstable's Junior Schools or another school of parents' choice in the September following their 7th birthday.
We have six classes; two Year 2 classes, two Year 1 classes and two Reception/Foundation Stage (EYFS) classes.
School Day timings
School starts promptly at 9.00am but parents are welcome to bring their children to school from 8.45am.
The children have a morning break before which they are able to have free fresh fruit and to subscribe to having a drink of milk. However, all children have access to filtered water during the day and are encouraged to drink regularly.
The school's extended services include 7.30am to 6.00pm wrap-around care in respect of breakfast and after school clubs; 3+club for prospective pupils; drop-in information and support from our Inclusion Co-ordinator and Well-being team; opportunities for family learning; as well as a variety of after school clubs run by school staff and outside organisations.
Menus are available to view on the schools website.
