Welcome to our website! We appreciate you taking the time to find out about us and our school.  Here at Westmeads Community Infant School, we aim to give our amazing pupils the very best start to their educational journey. Our intent focuses on the high expectations we have of everyone and our belief that everyone has the ability to succeed. Our core values of independence, love, curiosity, kindness, perseverance and equity run through everything we do and are the foundations of the school; shaping our curriculum and pedagogy, and guiding our behaviours and attitudes to learning.

Westmeads is an exciting place – and our best assets are our  families. Buzzing with energy, the children are at the heart of everything we do, and meeting their needs is our main focus. We strongly believe that our community is very much part of our school and that our families are our children’s co-educators, so we invite you to be involved in every step of your child’s school journey.

Our bespoke research-led innovative and progressive curriculum takes children beyond the classroom, venturing outdoors and into our local community. We are very lucky to have our very own canopy forest area onsite, the woods close by and the beach on our doorstep, of which we take advantage at every opportunity with our fully credited beach and coastal school curriculum. Children and adults alike love learning when they are motivated, excited and having a real and hands-on experience and here at Westmeads that is what we strive to deliver. As an Early Years specialist I value highly the opportunity in an infant school to specialise in these integral years of a child's development.
