All infant-aged children are entitled to free school meals under the Universal Free School Meals scheme.

However, if families receive certain benefits, they can apply for 'Free School Meals', and if their child is entitled to them, this gives additional benefits to your child.  If you think you are eligible, please go to Kent County Council website for further information on how to apply. 

Meals at Westmeads Outdoor Nursery

Lunchtime is a happy and social part of our nursery day. Children can enjoy a healthy, cooked lunch each day (£2.40 per meal, booked termly through the Pupil Asset portal), or families may choose to send a packed lunch in line with our Healthy Packed Lunches Policy. Meals are served in the Little Kitchen canteen, where our Nursery children eat alongside Reception, helping them feel part of the wider school community. Staff join the children at the table, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere where little ones are encouraged to try new foods, feed themselves, and practise pouring their own drinks. We make sure that every child’s dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences are respected, and parents are always kept updated on meal plans and how their child is getting on. Don’t worry if your child is a fussy eater – we work gently with each child at their own pace to build positive mealtime experiences.
